Problem 1:

Dead Pan, a video game developer, has a 70% chance of developing a profitable video game. The company’s management is considering a new game and assesses the probability of developing a profitable game based on market research. In the past, 90% of their profitable games had been correctly predicted to be profitable by market research. At the same time, 20% of their failed games had also been predicted to be profitable by market research. What is the probability that a profitable game will be predicted and the game will actually fail?

Problem 2:

Market Researchers Inc has hired a project consulting firm to perform a study to determine if a project to be embarked by this company will be successful or it will fail. In similar studies performed by past market researchers, the market research study indicated that the project will be successful 85% of the time. On the other hand, whenever the project actually fails, the market study incorrectly predicted that the project will be successful; 20% of the time. Before the study was performed, it believed there is 70% chance that the project will be successful. When Market Researches Inc performs the study for this project the results predicts it will be successful. Given the results of this study, what is the probability that the project will actually be successful

History Of Art From Middle Age To Modern Times Assignment

[ad_1]

For this week’s discussion assignment, you will explore the characteristics of Early Renaissance art in both Northern and Southern Europe.College Homework Help Address each part of the assignment below:

Part 1
Two of the great innovations of the Renaissance in painting were the artist’s ability to depict a more contemporary world, and to create the illusion of a three-dimensional world in a painting. By studying and comparing paintings created in Italy from the fourteenth and the fifteenth centuries, you can see how this innovation developed:

  • Giotto. Lamentation Fresco in the Scrovegni (Arena) Chapel, 1305–06
  • Masaccio, The Tribute Money, c. 1427
  • Perugino, Christ Giving the Keys to St. Peter, 1481

In a minimum of 2 well-developed paragraphs, identify and describe at least 3 specific details or elements that progressively illustrate the artist’s concern for depicting a more natural world and for creating the illusion of three-dimensional space on the two-dimensional surface of the painting.

Part 2
As we learned this week, art historians analyze a work of art using a specific vocabulary to describe its physical and visual properties, and by interpreting its subject matter, symbolism, and socio-historical context. Select one of the following paintings:

  • Jan Van Eyck, Double Portrait of Giovanni Arnolfini and His Wife, 1434
  • Petrus Christus, A Goldsmith in His Shop, 1449
  • Hugo van der Goes, Portinari Altarpiece, 1474-76

For your selected painting:

  1. In a paragraph of 4-6 sentences, describe the composition of the painting, including its use of color and light, and the representation of space. Explain why some artistic elements in the painting look realistic to you and some do not look realistic. Discuss whether the figures fit into the space, whether their movements seem believable, whether their clothes fit their bodies properly, and whether there are shadows that make sense.
  2. Read about your selected painting in the course textbook and/or through reliable online resources.College Homework Help In a paragraph of 4-6 sentences, describe the overall subject matter of the painting; the meaning of some of the objects in the painting; and any social, historical, political, and/or religious factors that are important to understanding the painting. Be sure to provide citations for any outside sources you reference in this part of your response.

Respond to both parts of the assignment thoroughly, making sure to use information from the readings and the lectures. All responses should be in complete sentence form, using proper spelling and grammar.

As soon as possible, review and comment on the work of two of your peers. In your comments, consider areas you would suggest for expansion or clarification.History homework help today

Stereotypes Assignment

[ad_1]

Stereotypes, like bias, are a social phenomenon that fuels isms. Every culture has stereotypes.

Part of understanding stereotypes more deeply requires us to answer such questions as “How are stereotypes formed?” “What attitudes, beliefs, or experiences maintain stereotypes?” and “How are stereotypes changed?” That is where research comes in. Unfortunately, it is hard to research a topic when research participants do not want to admit that they hold stereotypes, let alone use them to make life decisions.

In this discussion, you will address religious stereotypes and create a research study that investigates those stereotypes within a religious culture of your choice. Finally, you will evaluate how cultural and research biases will affect your study.

Instructions

Your initial post will have two parts. First, complete the following:

  • Identify two stereotypes about a specific religion or faith.
  • Compare and contrast the stereotypes and their effects on the subjects of the stereotypes.

Next, describe a design for a research study related to your specialization that investigates an issue related to a stereotype or is counter to a stereotype. You may investigate anything related to the faith or religion, and stereotypes. For example, if you were a chemical dependency counselor, you might investigate alcoholism in Jewish Americans.

  • Explain, briefly, what your research study plans to investigate and why this is important.
  • Articulate the cultural biases that may surface in your research and how you will manage or avoid them.
  • Explain how will you recruit participants.
  • Discern the types of research biases you will want to avoid in the study.

Your initial discussion post should be at least 200 words.

Response Guidelines

Respond to at least two other learners. Please try to choose posts that have not yet had responses. Each peer response should be 150 words or more. When responding to a peer, consider whether his or her post contains any assumptions or faulty logic that should be questioned. Is it incomplete in any way? Can you enlarge upon the ideas presented or suggest variations? Are there flaws with participant recruitment or research biases that can be avoided? Support your opinions by citing course readings or your own experience, if relevant.

Learning Components

This activity will help you achieve the following learning components:

  • Describe types of cultural bias.
  • Identify research-based best practices related to culture.
