TELEVISION SHOW: Students will watch three (3) episodes of an early childhood television show
(target ages: infancy – preadolescent; birth – 11/12 years of age) to identify and examine key
developmental/life-span concepts. Students will identify and discuss a minimum of four (4)
developmental/life-span concepts present across the episodes. All of the key concepts may not be
demonstrated in each episode, however at least two (2) concepts must be identified in each
episode (e.g., discuss how bi-lingual language development is promoted in all episodes of Dora the
Explorer; diversity is promoted in all episodes of the Backyardigans, adoption in episodes of Miss
Spiders Sunny Patch, etc.)
