Political theory and the Budget
In the context of their ideologies differences, liberals and conservations are likely to adopt a different position about budgetary issues in the US. Notably, the areas where the two groups disagree include economic stability sources for the country and the adoption of rules or otherwise in the formulation of economic policies (Magstadt, 2017). Moreover, the choice of monetary or fiscal policy in the process of achieving stability in the economy and the potential issues which may lead to inflation form other factors for dispute (Hines, 2012). This discussion focuses on key areas of budgeting to draw a correlation in differences in perspectives between the two sides of the divide.
On sources of instability in the economic situation of the country, conservatives are likely to advocate for a free market economy in which the flow of good and service is unrestricted by the government. Under this initiative, any intervention measure by the government paper help to control trade is a major threat to the stability of the economy (Magstadt, 2017). On the other end, liberals prefer an economic system where restrictions are imposed in the market to prevent any extreme measures which could cause harm to the economy (Magstadt, 2017). Also, conservatives perceive interventions by the government such as facilitation of programs of home ownership and more restrictions on policies which influence budgeting as threats to the economy.
Additionally, this point justifies the current complaints among conservatives as they attempt to fault the government for the financial crisis because of its housing initiatives. On their part, liberals consider the free market and privatization of major business channels as the main threat to economic stability hence the need for budgeting stakeholders to address the gaps while formulating the budget (Magstadt, 2017). Therefore, conservatives and liberals differ fundamentally on the economic perspectives which affect the budgeting process in the US as demonstrated under this discussion.
