Option A: Come up with a thesis and argue for it. A thesis is a statement describing your position toward some view. It should be based on one of our readings or discussions from the first two sections of the course schedule: Topic: Abortion Example of a good thesis: argue in this paper that moral relativism is an inadequate moral theory because it does not offer a reasonable answer to the trolley problems. Then, you can spend the rest of the paper talking about the trolley problem, how the moral relativist would answer the problem, why that answer is bad, and how they might respond to your criticism. Example of a bad thesis: argue that consequentialism is a bad moral theory because there is no such thing as right and wrong. You’re unlikely to show in 1,000 words that there is no such thing as right and wrong. Length: 750-1000 words Format: The paper should have 12-point Times New Roman font, 1-inch margins, and double-spacing. Include a word count and the date in the upper left corner of your first page. All pages should have your name and be numbered.
